Wheat Grain, Bulk Indian Wheat for Export

We supply Indian milling wheat in bulk for flour production and general food use, including Hybrid, HI1634 and 1544 alongside standard Indian wheat, cleaned and graded to 99% purity. Wheat is a commodity rather than a specification product, which means the numbers in your contract do more work than the variety name: purity, moisture, foreign matter and test weight determine what you actually receive.

Before anything else, one point of context that affects every wheat enquiry. Indian wheat export is governed by government policy, and that policy has at times restricted or prohibited outbound shipments in response to domestic supply conditions. Availability and pricing should therefore be confirmed against the position in force at the time of your enquiry rather than assumed from a previous season. We will tell you plainly where the policy stands when you ask, including when the answer is that we cannot ship.

Where wheat is available, the specification worth stating covers purity and the maximum foreign matter you will accept, moisture content, which drives storage safety over a long sea transit, and test weight, which correlates with milling yield. Buyers milling to a consistent flour specification often prefer working with a named variety rather than mixed-origin wheat, because grain characteristics vary less between consignments. If your process is sensitive to protein or gluten strength, state your target and we will source against it rather than quoting a generic grade.

Packing is standard 25 or 50 kg PP bags, with other formats available on confirmed orders. Minimum order is 5 metric tons, and larger container quantities are quoted on request. Pre-shipment quality reports covering moisture, purity and foreign matter can be arranged, and shipments carry the full export document set including phytosanitary certification and certificate of origin.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Indian wheat currently available for export?

It depends on the policy in force. The Indian government has periodically restricted or prohibited wheat exports when domestic supply tightens, and the position can change with limited notice. Ask us before planning around a delivery date and we will confirm the current status. We would rather decline an enquiry than accept an order we cannot ship.

What specification should I state when requesting a quotation?

At minimum: maximum moisture percentage, minimum purity, maximum foreign matter, and your destination port and quantity. If you are milling, add your target test weight and any protein or gluten requirement. A quotation against a stated specification is one you can hold us to; a quotation against "good quality wheat" is not.

Can you supply a specific named variety?

Yes, subject to availability in the current crop. Named varieties such as HI1634 or 1544 give more consistent grain characteristics between consignments than mixed-origin wheat, which matters if you mill to a fixed flour specification. Tell us the variety and the volume, and we will confirm whether it can be sourced for your window.

What packing is available, and can you supply in bulk?

Standard packing is 25 or 50 kg PP bags. Other bag sizes and buyer-branded packaging can be arranged on confirmed orders. For larger quantities, tell us your destination and volume and we will quote the most economical option for that route.

What moisture content should I specify for wheat?

State a maximum rather than a target, because moisture is the parameter that determines storage safety over a long sea transit. Wheat shipped above your ceiling risks mould and quality loss in the container. Agree the figure, the testing method and who bears the cost of verification before loading.

Which documents accompany a wheat shipment?

Commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, phytosanitary certificate and the bill of lading, with a fumigation certificate where your destination requires one. Pre-shipment quality reports covering moisture, purity and foreign matter can be arranged and are worth making a shipping document on a first order.

What does test weight tell me about the wheat?

Test weight, the mass of grain filling a fixed volume, correlates with milling yield: heavier grain generally returns more flour per tonne. If you mill commercially it belongs in your specification alongside purity and moisture, because two lots meeting the same purity standard can differ meaningfully in what they actually yield.

How much notice do you need for a wheat order?

More than for most products, because availability depends on the export policy in force as well as the crop. Come to us with your destination, volume and intended window as early as you can, and we will tell you both what is currently permitted and what can realistically be sourced for that period.
