How We Work

What a buyer actually gets

Four things that determine whether a consignment arrives as agreed, and where most problems in agricultural trade originate.

Bought at origin, not through intermediaries

We source directly from growing regions rather than buying finished lots on the open market. That is what makes it possible to grade to a buyer’s exact specification and to hold price accountable at origin, and it is the difference between a supplier who can answer a specification question in numbers and one who cannot.

Graded to your specification, in writing

Size bands, tolerances, moisture ceilings, colour values and maximum defect percentages are agreed before production rather than argued about after arrival. Most disputes in this trade happen not because a shipment was poor, but because nobody wrote down what good meant.

Packing and cold chain built for your route

Ventilated mesh for onion, corrugated boxes for pomegranate, poly-lined cartons for banana, pre-cooling and reefer settings matched to the transit. Handling is planned around the destination and the season rather than applied as a house standard.

Complete documentation, every shipment

Phytosanitary certificate, certificate of origin, commercial invoice, packing list and transport document as standard, with residue testing, fumigation and preferential origin certificates arranged where your market requires them.

Common Questions

Buying from India, answered

What products do you export?

Fresh red onion, white onion and Bangalore Rose onion, Bhagwa pomegranate, G9 Cavendish banana and fresh green chilli, alongside dry red chilli in the Teja S17, Byadgi, Guntur Sannam S4, Kashmiri, S10, Endofy and Syngenta 5531 varieties. We also supply 1121 basmati rice and Indian milling wheat, the latter subject to prevailing export policy.

What is your minimum order quantity?

It varies by product. Onion and banana ship as full container loads, approximately 28 and 20 metric tons respectively, because part loads are uneconomic for those products. Pomegranate and green chilli start at 3 metric tons, and dry chilli, rice and wheat at 5 metric tons. Smaller trial volumes by air can be discussed for fresh produce.

Which markets do you ship to?

Principally the Gulf and Middle East, South and Southeast Asia. Onion moves to Bangladesh, Malaysia, the UAE and Sri Lanka; banana to Iran, Iraq and the Gulf; pomegranate to the UAE, Bangladesh and Europe; dry chilli to Bangladesh, China, Sri Lanka and Vietnam. Tell us your destination port and we will confirm what is practical for that route.

Can I inspect the goods before they ship?

Yes, and we would encourage it on a first order. Buyers routinely appoint SGS, Intertek or an equivalent agency at their own cost to inspect at the packhouse or at container stuffing. No supplier serving export markets should object to third party inspection.

How do quotations work, and how long are they valid?

Send us your destination port, product and grade, packing preference and quantity, and you should have a workable price the same day. For fresh produce, and onion in particular, quotations are short-dated because origin prices and Indian export policy both move. We confirm the position in force on the day you book rather than quoting a rate that may have lapsed.

How do I start, if this is a first order from India?

Begin smaller than your programme needs, even where the unit economics are worse. Agree the specification in numbers before any payment, appoint an inspection agency at loading, and settle in advance how arrival condition will be assessed and by whom. The first order is worth treating as something that teaches you about the supplier rather than something that fills a season.
